Cheap Holiday Bargains to Hong Kong
Located on the South East coast of China, Hong Kong is a vibrant city offering plenty to see and do. Most of the hotels are located in the area of Kowloon
where you can take a ferry across the water to Hong Kong Island which is the main business district and the place where most of the
dazzling skyscrapers are located.
Taking the funicular to the top of Victoria Peak on Hong Kong Island is recommended. Here you can take
in fantastic views of Hong Kong city below and Kowloon, across the water.
Hong Kong offers plenty to keep shopaholics happy. Nathan Road (also known as the Golden Mile), runs for miles through Kowloon and Tsimshatsui, boasting
department stores, shopping centres, factory outlets and small specialist shops. Kowloon offers plenty of markets and "Chinatown" style shopping can be found in the Old Sheung Wan district.
If you grow tired of shopping (is that possible?), you could pay a visit to one of Hong Kongs many museums which include a science museum, teddy bear museum, history museum and the space museum is highly recommended for space enthusiasts. Alternative pass-times include
a junk boat tour or harbour cruise, a visit to Stanley Market, and horse racing at Happy Valley (September - June).
Hong Kong by night offers a thriving cultural scene including chinese opera, ballet and concerts in addition to unlimited bars to suite all tastes (but usually not suited to tight budgets(!) as alcohol prices tend to be high).
